Re: P O 6054 - An Appropriation Ordinance Amending the Budget for Fiscal Rear 2010
This budget amendment provides for the $500,000 required to complete the funding for the renovations
to the Police; Station as presented on the December 1 agenda, PR 15632. The amendment al;;o provides
$30,000 in funding for title work and other administrative costs related to the Neighborhood
Stabilization Program and the operable wall at the Civic Center in the amount of $16,000.

ORDINANCE NO.
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING
THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2009 AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 2010 AS TO FUND
RENOVATIONS TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
BUILDING, ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS RELATED
TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD STABILIZATION
PROGRAM AND REPAIRS AT THE CIVIC
CENTER
WHEREAS, in accordance with Article XII, Section 9, of the City Charter, the City Council
may make emergency appropriations from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the City Council may make budget amendments for emergencies under Section
102.009 and for Municipal purposes under Section 102.010 Local Government Code.
WHEREAS, on September 22, 2009, the City Council approved and adopted Ordinance 09-68
which appropriated the 2009-2010 budget; and
WHEREAS, on November 3, 2009, the City Council approved and adopted Ordinance 09-80
amending ordinance 09-68; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of the citizens to proceed with the
improvements to the Police Station and Central Fire Station as presented in Proposed Resolution 15632
which will require $500,000 in funds beyond the bond proceeds, fund $30,000 in total worlk and other
administrative costs related to the neighborhood stabilization program, and the repairs to the operable
wall at the (:ivic Center for $16,000.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
Section 2. That the General Fund budget is increased $500,000 to fund a transfer to the
Capital Improvements Fund to complete the renovations at the Police Station, and the Civic Center
budget is increased $16,000 to fund the repairs to the operable wall.
Section 3. That Section 2 of the Budget Ordinance 09-68 be amended to read:
That there be and is hereby appropriated the slim Fifty Five Million, Three Hundred Forty Two
Thousand, ]vine Hundred Sixty Three Dollars ($55,342,963) to the General Fund for the payment of
the Operating Expenses, and necessary capital outlay for the City government for the following
departments, and uses:
