A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PORT ARTHUR YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL WHEREAS, the City Council, on the 15th day of October, 2002, created a youth commission called the Port Arthur Youth Advisory Council (YAC); and WHEREAS, the existing members are delineated in Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, there are unfilled positions available for Councilmember Jack Chatman Jr., to appoint two new members, Phillip Cole III and Terrance Ellies; and Whereas, there is an unfilled position available for Mayor Protem Elizabeth Segler to appoint a new member, Anthony Ochoa; and WHEREAS, there is one unfilled position available for Mayor Deloris Prince to appoint a new member; and WHEREAS, there are two unfilled positions available for Councilmembers Morris Albright, Martin Flood, Robert Williamson, and D.K. Wise to appoint new members; and WHEREAS, there are three unfilled positions available for Councilmember John Beard to appoint new members; and WHEREAS, due to organizational transition and hurricane interruptions, sitting members have not had the opportunity to z.pr15649 fully participate in YAC projects and development. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS: Section 1. true and correct. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are Section 2. That the City Council herein approves the appointments to the Port Arthur Youth Advisory Council, who will serve through December 31, 2011; as delineated in Exhibit "B". Section 3. That the YAC appointments expiring on 01-15- 2010, attached as Exhibit "C" are hereby extended until 01-15-2011. Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
