Background: Wright National Flood Insurance is rated A (Excellent) for its financial strength. The City of Port Arthur has insured its properties with Wright National Flood Insurance for over ten years. The City of Port Arthur has flood insurance on various locations throughout the City with Flood Insurance through the only flood insurance program provided. The sole focus for the City of Port Arthur is to provide the proper and necessary coverage for properties throughout the City. Budgetary/Fiscal Effect: The projected budgetary impact will be $150,000.00 to renew the policies for the 2026 year. There are additional policies that will need to be renewed; however,the vast majority are due by the end of April. Staffing/Employee Effect: None Summary: It is recommended the City Council of the City of Port Arthur adopt Proposed Resolution No. 24777 which authorizes the City Manager to renew flood insurance policies with Wright National Flood Insurance Company in the amount of $150,000.00.
