Introduction: The Port Arthur City Council is being asked to consider the approval of Proposed Resolution No. 24927, calling for a public hearing to consider granting a Zoning Map Amendment for approximately 35.77 acres of land, Pt of Lts 2, 7, and 8, Blk 16, Rg N & Pt Lts 1 & 2, Blk 17 Rg N & Lt. 2, Tr 2, 1.000, Blk. 16, Range N, PALCO Addition, City of Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas. The property is located at south of West Port Arthur Road and north of Kerry Twin Thomas Drive. The request aims to amend the zoning from the Light Industrial District (LI) to a Commercial General District (CG) for the construction & operation of "Amusement, Commercial." Background: On or around April 8, 2026, an application for a Zoning Map Amendment was filed with the Planning & Zoning Division. In accordance with Appendix A, Section 6.03 of the City of Port Arthur Zoning Ordinance, any person or corporation having a proprietary interest in any property may petition the city council for a change or amendment to the provisions of this ordinance. The Planning & Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on May 4, 2026, at 5:30 P.M. "N" & Part of Lots 1 & 2, Block 17, Rg "N" & Lot 2, Tract 2, 1.000, Bock 16, Range "N", Port Arthur Land Company, City of Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas, as delineated in Exhibit "A" shall be held on June 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the City P.R.
