Introduction: The intent of this resolution is to seek the City of Port Arthur City Council's authorization for the Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation's(PAEDC)payment to Terrell's Tree Service of Groves, Texas for tree trimming services at the Spur 93 Business Park. Background: The Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation maintains the grounds and appearance of the Spur 93 Business Park. Terrell's Tree Service submitted a quote to trim approximately 110 oak trees, including trimming low-hanging limbs and hauling off all limbs, rankings, and debris. Budget Impact: The budgetary impact is$7,000,funds available in PAEDC Account No. 120-80-625-5479-00-00- 000(Business Park Development) Recommendation: It is recommended that the City of Port Arthur City Council authorizes the Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation's payment to Terrell's Tree Service for tree trimming services at the Spur 93 Business Park. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PORT ARTHUR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION'S PAYMENT TO TERRELL'S TREE SERVICE OF GROVES, TEXAS FOR TREE TRIMMING SERVICES AT THE SPUR 93 BUSINESS PARK IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $7,000;FUNDS AVAILABLE IN PAEDC ACCOUNT NO. 120- 80-625-5479-00-00-000 (BUSINESS PARK DEVELOPMENT) WHEREAS, the Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation ("PAEDC") owns the property known as the Spur 93 Business Park and is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of said property; and WHEREAS,routine tree maintenance is necessary to maintain the safety,appearance,and accessibility of the property; and WHEREAS, the PAEDC requested quotes from qualified vendors and received three responses attached hereto as Exhibit"A"; and WHEREAS,Terrell's Tree Service submitted a quote to trim approximately 110 oak trees, including trimming low-hanging limbs and hauling off all limbs,rankings and debris in an amount not to exceed$7,000; and WHEREAS, at the May 4, 2026, regular Board meeting, the PAEDC Board of Directors approved payment to Terrell's Tree Service for the tree trimming services at the Spur 93 Business Park as outlined in Exhibit"A" in an amount not to exceed $7,000. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR,TEXAS: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the City Council authorizes PAEDC to submit payment to Terrell's Tree Service of Groves,Texas for tree trimming services at the Spur 93 Business Park in an amount not to exceed $7,000. Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
