Staffing Analysis, Considerations: None Recommendation: Purchasing is requesting that City Council approve PO No. 7410 authorizing the sale of surplus furniture, technology, vehicles and minor equipment items through Rene Bates Auctioneers. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS FURNITURE, TECHNOLOGY AND MINOR EQUIPMENT BY A PUBLIC ONLINE AUCTION THROUGH RENE BATES AUCTIONEERS, INC & TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT THROUGH GLOBAL ASSET, LLC WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur has surplus property as described in Exhibit "A" to- wit: assorted furniture, technology and minor equipment which has become obsolete and/or non- functional; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No.18-157, the City entered into a contract with Rene Bates Auctioneers, Inc. through BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing Contract No. 541-17 to conduct online auctions to sell and obtain the best possible price; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 22-454, the City entered into a Master IT Recovery and Recycle Agreement with Global Asset of Carrollton, Texas through BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing Contract,No. 661-22 for the disposition of technology assets. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager, together with the Purchasing Manager, pursuant to Article XIV, Section 7 of the Charter of the City of Port Arthur, to sell the above-named surplus property at an auction, said property attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit"A". Section 2. That the City Manager, together with the Purchasing Manager are hereby authorized and empowered to execute and deliver bills of sale or other instruments necessary to transfer title to said items at the price bid. 1 P 0 7410 P. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
