A RESOLIITION AIITHORIZING THE DONATION OF
ESCESS INVENTORY TO THE MIISEIIM OF THE GIILF
COAST
WHEREAS, the City has excess items that are being accumulated
for an on-line auction; and
WHEREAS, the Museum of the Gulf Coast is a nonprofit
organization based in Port Arthur that helps to provide cultural
insight about the history of. our city and the numerous
accomplishments of native Port Arthurans; and
WHEREAS, the Museum of the- Gulf Coast has expressed an
interest in some of the excess items, as delineated in the letter
attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed acceptable public purpose that the items
of interest; i.e. two (2) bookshelves, metal shelving, and a
cabinet with doors be donated to the Museum of the Gulf Coast.
NOW THEREFORE, BS IT RESOLVED BY TH8 CITY COIINCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT ARTHIIR:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble
are true and correct.
Section 2. That the request_ of the Museum of the Gulf
Coast serves a valuable public purpose of educating the citizens as
to our history and notable accomplishments.

Section 3. That the excess items delineated in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, are hereby donated to the Museum of the Gulf
Coast.
Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution
be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.

Dear Mr Comeaux:
Thank you for letting members of the Museum of the Gulf Coast staff view the City's
excess inventory. We found a few items that could be of use to the Museum. They are as
follows: (2) bookcases, metal shelving that needs to be assembled, and a cabinet with
doors.
With your approval, I would like to request that the City consider donating these items to
the Museum.
