RE: PR No. 25138—Water Bill Adjustment
Nature of the Request:
City Council allows approval of certain utility bill adjustments in accordance with Section 110-
97, 110-98 and 110-99 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Port Arthur.
Staff Analysis, Considerations:
"Exhibit A" attached to the resolution lists the accounts recommended for the combined total
adjustment of $31,406.62. "Exhibit B" attached to the resolution details the adjustment of
$5,466.28 for customer Advanced Auto and "Exhibit C" details the adjustment of$25,940.34
for customer Oxbow Calcining.
These customers have worked diligently with us to resolve the account, have had all leaks
repaired, and have reduced consumption.
Budget Considerations:
The combined total adjustment for the attached water bills is $31,406.62 and the adjustments
will be credited to the customer's utility account balance.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends the City Council approve PR No. 25138, per the customers' request
authorizing water bill adjustments of$31,406.62.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION APPROVING WATER AND SEWER
ADJUSTMENTS TO CREDIT CERTAIN CUSTOMER
UTILITY ACCOUNTS DUE TO LEAKS AND/OR
EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION.
WHEREAS, Section 110-97, 110-98, and 110-99 of the City of Port Arthur Code of
Ordinances as it pertains to procedures for adjustment of water bills for residential and
commercial customers, and providing for publication; and,
WHEREAS, said provision allows for a maximum adjustment of thirty-one thousand,
four hundred and six dollars and sixty-two cents($31,406.62)as detailed in the attached "Exhibit
A", with the approval of the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, such adjustment includes customer Advanced Auto's adjustment of
$5,466.28 (Exhibit B) and customer Oxbow Calcining's adjustment of$25,940.34 (Exhibit C);
and,
WHEREAS, Sections 110-98 and 110-99 of the Code of Ordinances establish
procedures for adjusting water billings.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR,TEXAS:
THAT, in accordance with Section 110-97, 110-98. and 110-99 of the Code of
Ordinances, the Council does hereby authorize approval for water adjustments totaling
$31,406.62 as detailed in the attached"Exhibit A"; and,
THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution shall be spread upon the Minutes of the
City Council.
