No. 15686 authorizing payment to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in the amount of $35,396.22 for thirty (30) abandoned lots that. were also delinquent in taxes. These lots were purchased at a January 5, 2010 tax sale. Additionally, a second tax sale will 'be held on February 2, 2010. At that sale, we hope to purchase 181 abandoned lots. Therefore, we are asking that the Council authorize a bid not to exceed $250,000. As a result of an Interlocal Agreement between all the taxing entities, the costs may be significantly decreased at a resale. Monies are available in Account No 00, Project No. NSP005. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT UNDER THE NSP 1 PROGRAM TO THE JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE FOR PROPERTIES ACQUIRED AT THE JEFFERSON COUNTY DELINQUENT TAX SALE (ACCOIINT NO. 129-1435-554.81-00, PROJECT N0. NSP005) WHEREAS, the City was authorized to purchase thirty (30) abandoned/tax foreclosed properties under the NSP 1 Program; and WHEREAS, on January 5, 2010, the City purchased 30 abandoned lots, as delineated in the list attached hereto as Exhibit "A", at a delinquent tax sale, conducted by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office; and WHEREAS, the City, under the NSP 1 Program, Housing and. Neighborhood Revitalization, is herein authorized to pay THIRTY- FIVE THOUSAND, THREE. HUNDRED NINETY-SIX DOLLARS AND TWENTY-TWO CENTS ($35,396.22) to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for the purchase of the thirty (30)' abandoned lots; and WHEREAS, on February 2, 2010, the city will seek to purchase approximately 181 abandoned/tax foreclosed properties in an amount not to exceed $250,000, as delineated in the list attached hereto as Exhibit "B" NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1.
