The Civic Center Department recommends the City Council approve AAR Incorporated of Houston, TX to do
asbestos abatement and demolition of two buildings in Sabine Pass, along with the removal of two dead trees,
for a cost of $14,250.00.
BACKGROUND-
City owned property in Sabine Pass have two buildings standing with damage from Hurricane Ike. These
buildings, along with two dead trees, need to be removed in order for work to be-done on the property for a
Community Center. Both,buIldings have asbestos, which must be abated.

AAR, Inc. was the lowest bidder, who bid on the abatement, demolition and tree removal, for a total of:

Golden Pass LNG, through Port Anhui for Positive Action, will pay for all cost related to this,

Adam,
This is confirm that funds provided to~POrt Arthur for Positive~ACtion by Golden Pass LNG
will be used to cover the cost of the Sabine Pass Community Center site clearance and
preparation, currently anticipated cost approximately $15,000. The City has obtained bids
for the site clearance work and will administer the contract. Please advise Cheryl Carson
and me as to when to whom the funds should paid.
Appreciate your help in getting things moving on this aspect for the new Sabine Pass
Community Center.
