Blackketter, P.E., Director of Public Works SUBJECT P.R. #15726 - CO-Ol - G&G for Construction of a Propane Fueling Station for Transit DATE 01 February 2010 RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 15726, authorizing Change Order Ol to the contract with G&G Enterprises for the construction of a propane fueling station for Transit, decreasing the project amount by $4,000 to a new total of $430,500. BACKGROUND: The City Council previously executed a contract with G&G for the construction of a propane fueling station for the Transit Division. The amount of this contract was for $434,500. This change order is for deleting the requirement for lime stabilization due to the soil conditions not requiring. it. BUDGETARY/FISCAL EFFECT: This change order reduces the cost of this project by $4,000. EMPLOYEE/STAFF EFFECT: None. SUMMARY I recommend that the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 15726, authorizing Change Order 01 to the contract with G&G Enterprises for the construction of a propane fueling station for Transit, decreasing the project amount by $4,000 to a new total of $430;500. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER 01 TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR AND G&G ENTERPRISES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A PROPANE FUELING STATION FOR TRANSIT, DECREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $4,000 TO A NEW TOTAL OF $430,500. WHEREAS, on November 17, 2009, the City entered into a contract with G&G Enterprises for construction of a propane fueling station for Transit in the amount of $434,500; and, WHEREAS, G&G has requested Change Order O1 in the amount of $4,000, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" for deleting the requirement for lime stabilization of the soil; and, WHEREAS, approval of Change Order No. O1 in the amount of $4,000 decreasing the contract to a new amount of $430,500, is herein deemed an appropriate action; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT, the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct; and, THAT, Change Order 01 is herein approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute said Change Order; and, THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
