NO. 15764 03/03/10 as/ts RESOLUTION NO: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER 01 TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR AND AAR INCORPORATED INCREASING THE SCOPE AND WORK CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $3,550.00 TO A NEW TOTAL OF $17,800.00, SAID COSTS TO BE PAID BY-.PORT ARTHUR FOR POSITIVE ACTION WHEREAS, on January 26, 2010, the City entered into a contract with AAR Incorporated for asbestos abatement and demolition of two buildings. in Sabine Pass, along with the removal of two dead trees, for the amount of $14,250.00; and, WHEREAS, AAR Incorporated has requested Change Order OI , as delineated in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, in the amount of $3,550.00; and, WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 252.048 (A) of the Local Government Code, Change Order.No. 1 is being requested to increase the quantity of work to be preformed in order to allow for the removal of slabs on the site, which was not included in'the original Scope of Work; and WHEREAS, approval of Change Order No. O1, as delineated in Exhibit "B" attached hereto, in the amount of $3,550.00, increasing the contract to a new amount of $17,800.00, is' herein deemed an appropriate action. NOW THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. THAT, the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2.
