RECOMMENDATION
The Equipment Services Division recommends that the City Council renew the contract for
Automatic Transmission Repairs to AAMCO Transmissions of Port Arthur, Texas for an
estimated amount of $26,000 at the hourly rate of $45.00.
BACKGROUND
On June 4, 2008 the City of Port Arthur received two bids for Automatic Transmission Repairs.
Of the two bids AAMCO Transmissions was the lowest, responsible bidder. The City Council
awarded AAMCO Transmissions a contract for transmissions repairs in December of 2008. The
original agreement was aone-year contract renewable for one additional year. This will be the
second and last renewable contract.
BUDGETARY AND FISCAL EFFECT
Funds are available under line item 43-00 in various department budgets.
STAFFING EFFECT

SUMMARY
Equipment Services recommends the City Council renew the contract for Automatic
Transmission Repairs to AAMCO Transmissions of Port Arthur, Texas for an estimated amount
of $26,000 at the hourly rate of $45.00 per hour, for on additional year.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION RENEWING THE ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REPAIRS TO AAMCO
TRANSMISSIONS OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS FOR THE
ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $26,000.
WHEREAS, periodically City vehicles need transmission repairs or maintenance; and
WHEREAS, a contract was awazded to AAMCO Transmissions. The contracfwas for
one yeaz, with one additional renewable year; and
WHEREAS, this will be the second and final yeaz for the contract renewal with
AAMCO Transmissions of Port Arthur, Texas.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1. That, the facts and opinions are true and correct:
Section 2. That the contract with AAMCO Transmissions is hereby renewed for one
additional year for an estimated amount of $26,000.
Section 3. That, an authorized representative from AAMCO will sign the resolution
agreeing to the terms thereof.
Section 4. That, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes
of the City Council.
