Re: P.O.6070 Amending Section 18-37 Contractors Requirements,
(Requested by Mayor Prince & Councilman Henderson)
RECOMMENDATION: Staff is proposing to amend Section 18-37 of the code
of ordinance by adding a section 1. This new section would allow smaller
contractors to provide a X15,000.00 bond instead of a X100,000.00 bond.
BACKGROUND: Currently the ordinance requires contractors to provide either
a certificate of insurance or a bond in the amount of $100,000. I have added a new
section which would allow smaller contractors, who perform minor repair work to
post a bond'in the amount of $15,000, rather than the X100,000.00 for those types
of jobs.
