R. 15868 RECOMMENDATION: I recommend City Council adopt Proposed Resolution 15868 so that the City Manager and the City Attorney are hE~rein authorized to take such necessary steps as to purchase the property described as Tract 5-A-1, 5-A- 2, and 5-A-3, 0.4831 acre of land, Replat of Tract 5-A, Block 10, Rosemont Addition, City of Port Arthur (3410 42nd Street, 3420 42~d Street and 3430 42~d Street). BACKGROUND: According to the procedures of this project, the City of Port Arthur Housing & Neighborhood Revitalization Department intends to purchase the above described property, contingent upon satisfactory completion of the survey, title search, environmental assessment, HUD's approval, Board approval and City Council approval and other completed inspections. BUDGETARYIFISCAL EFFECT: Funding will be provided by the Housing Programs HOME: Account 108-2141-626.89-00 Project HE0504. STAFFINGIEMPLOYEE EFFECT: Housing Administration staff will be responsible for submitting request for payment. R. 15868 5/25/10 - MM/Housing RESOLUTION NUMBER A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PURCHASE TRACTS 5-A-1, 5-A-2, AND 5-A-3, 0.4831 ACRE OF LAND, REPEAT OF TRACT 5-A, BLOCK 10, ROSEMONT ADDITION, CITY OF PORT ARTHUR (3410 42~ STREET, 3420 42~ STREET ANS 3430 42~ STREET) AND TO EXECUTE THE CLOSING DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, the City desires to purchase property as described in Exhibit "A" NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE C".ITY OF PORT ARTHIIR, TEXAS: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are t:.rue and correct. Section 2. That the City Manager and the City Attorney are herein authorized to take such necessary steps as to purchase the property described as Tracts 5-A-1,, S-A- 2 and 5-A-3, 0.4831 acre cif land, Re~plat of Tract 5-A, Block 10, Rosemont Addition, City of Port Arthur (3410 42nd Street, 3420 42nd Street and 3430 42nd Street). Section 3. That the purchase price for the property shall k~e delineated in Exhibit "A" . Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution k~e spread upon the Minutes of the (:ity Council.
