The only document we have concerning the land and streets dates back to 1947 when the Jefferson County Commissioners' Court adopted a drawing of Sabine Pass and "Old" Sabine that shows some lots and blocks separated by streets, some of which exist today, while many are shown for future development. These future streets were not officially "dedicated," either then or when the City of Port Arthur annexed the area; rather, they were placed on the plat map as if they could be dedicated if necessary in the future. 1 RECOMMENDATION: As stated above, Ms. LaBove's deed shows that she owns the area of South 11th Avenue and Granger Street and her tax bills show that she has been paying taxes on the area.
