I recommend that the City, Council accept the bid and authorize the purchase of Employee Service awards
for various City departments from J. Brm~dt Company, Inc. in accordance with Exhibit "A' attached
hereto. Their total bid amount based on astimated quantities is $5,856.08.
BACKGROUND
Four (4) bids were received and considered. The four (4) bids considered were received from O.C.
Tanner, J. Brandt Company, TBW Industries and TerryBerty in the total amounts of $7,206.30,
$5,856.08, $24,202.00 and $8,209.52 respectively. The lowest and best bid was received from the J.
Brandt Company.
Employee Service Awards are purchased and issued to tenured employees annually based on 5-year
service increments.
BUDGETARYfFISCAL EFFECT
Funds are budgeted in the Employee Benefits Fund, Account Number 620-1701-583.29-00, in the amount
of $5,200. The balance will be paid from savings in other fund line items.
STAFFING/EMPLOYEE EFFECT
Acceptance of this recommendation will have no effect on staffing levels.
SUMMARY
I recommend that City Council accept the bid and authorize the purchase of Employee Service Awards
from J. Brandt Company, as their bill is considered the lowest and best responsive. Funds are currently
Iavailable within each requesting depamnent's budget.
