SUBJECT: Proposed Ordinance No. 5498
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that the City Council adopt Proposed Ordinance No.
authorizing the donation of surplus telephone equipment to Jefferson County.
5498
BACKGROUND
Attached is a list of our twenty three-year (23) old telephone equipment. The
Purchasing Division is requesting that the City's surplus telephone equipment be
approved for donation. Because of the age of this telephone equipment it has no resale
value. The City has installed a new digital telephone system as of December 17, 2004
and has no use for the old phone system. Jefferson County has the same manufactured
Nortel telephone equipment and can use the donated equipment as spare parts. This will
aid the County because Nortel no longer supports this type of telephone equipment.
