The following is a suramary of the changes necessary in the City Department CDBG
requests to bring them within budget. These changes have been discussed with the
various departments.
Grants Management - $150,000
There have been no reductions in the funding for this request. It pays for the salaries and
administrative costs of running the CDBG program.
Housing Assistance - $689,500
This request has been reduced to $400,000.
1. Downpayment assistance for the purchase of existing hous'mg has been eliminated -
$37,500
2. Rehabilitation activities has been cut by 2/3 from $300,000 to $100,000.
3. Administration costs have been reduced by $52,000 with $40,000 being transferred to
the HOME program.
Community Services - $679,585
This request has been reduced by $167,500 by cutting demolition funding by 50%.
Public Works - $500,000
The street program has been reduced by $229,621 to $270,379.
