As of last week, the contractor has completed all street crossing (hot-mix asphalt) repairs, and notes that there will still be several more to be done in the near future as sewer construction Continues. The contractor has also completed grinding, mixing, and compacting all streets in the Griffing Park area to be reconstructed using double surface treatment chip seal. Our project inspector has verified that all streets have exceeded compaction tests. The paving subcontractor is currently pre-coating the rock and has scheduled its delivery to the site during the week of June 20-24, and is to begin applying the finish coat by the week of June 27-July 1. As with the initial street work, they will begin on the streets first excavated. According to the contractor, this process will go relatively quickly. We have scheduled a meeting for June 21 to discuss the street repair methods and priority to be used in the Pioneer Park area. Afterwards, the prime contractor will begin the grinding, mixing, and compacting process in this area, in hopes his subcontractor can move into this area immediately after finishing in Griffing Park. Please note that there will be a few short sections of read that will not completed until the sewer work is done. These are few and isolated, but will be scheduled as soon as practicable after sewer construction. Also, pavement reconstruction on Glenwood Drive, from Evergreen to Griffing Drive, will be delayed until after the waterline is installed. The contractor has scheduled to begin the waterline work the week of June 20-24. Also note that all of this work is weather dependent. xc: Charles Shajari, Engineering Designer II Bob Shaw Consulting Engineers Keith Burrell, ALLCO
