NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing of the City Council of the City of
Port Arthur will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 9:00 A.M., in the City Council
Chambers, Fifth Floor, City Hall, 444 Fourth Street, Port Arthur, Texas, for the purpose
of considering the Federal Transit Administration's proposed award for operation and
capital for fiscal 2011 -12 for the Port Arthur Transit (PAT) System.
Pursuant to 49 U.S.C. 5307, federal grants are available to urbanized areas and to
Governors for transit capital and operating assistance in urbanized areas and for
transportation related planning. Each year the City of Port Arthur is allocated funding
from the Governor's Fund for Public Transportation for operations as well as capital
expenditures as delineated as Exhibit "A ". Pursuant to 49 U.S.C. Section 5307(c), the
City of Port Arthur must provide an opportunity for a public hearing in which to obtain
the views of citizens on the Proposed Program of Projects, a copy of which is attached
hereto as Exhibit `B ". Citizens shall have the opportunity to provide written and oral
comments and to ask questions.
A copy of the proposed budget will be presented at the Public Hearing and is
listed below. It can also be examined at City Hall in the office of the City Secretary and
at the Port Arthur Public Library, 4615 9 Avenue, Port Arthur, Texas. This will be the
only publication notice unless there are changes.
