RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend that the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 16835, authorizing Change
Order 01 to the contract with ALLCO, L.L.C. for the Storm Sewer Improvements Along Kansas
Avenue (aka Rev. Raymond Scott), extending the contract by 124 days with no change to the
amount.
BACKGROUND:
The City Council previously executed a contract with ALLCO for the Storm Sewer Improvements
Along Kansas Avenue (aka Rev. Raymond Scott). Change Order 01 is for a time extension for
124 calendar days with no change in the contract dollar amount in order to complete the punch
list items. The project engineer, Arceneaux & Gates Consulting Engineers, Inc., has reviewed
the request, and recommends approval. In addition, the Texas General Land Office, the agency
administering this grant, now requires that the City approve this change prior to their review
and approval.
BUDGETARY /FISCAL EFFECT:
None.
EMPLOYEE /STAFF EFFECT:
None.
SUMMARY

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
CHANGE ORDER 01 TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
PORT ARTHUR AND ALLCO, L.L.C. FOR STORM SEWER
IMPROVEMENTS ALONG KANSAS AVENUE (AKA REV. RAYMOND
SCOTT), INCREASING THE CONTRACT TERM BY 124 DAYS WITH
NO CHANGE TO THE CONTRACT AMOUNT.
WHEREAS, in Resolution 11 -104, the City entered into a contract with ALLCO,
L.L.C. for Storm Sewer Improvements Along Kansas Avenue (aka Rev. Raymond Scott);
and,
WHEREAS, ALLCO has requested Change Order 01 increasing the term by 124
days to complete outstanding items with no change to the contract amount, attached
hereto as Exhibit "A "; and,
WHEREAS, this change must be approved by the City Council prior to review
and approval by the Texas General Land Office (GLO), the grant administrator; and,
WHEREAS, approval of Change Order 01 increasing the term by 124 days, is
herein deemed an appropriate action; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR:
THAT, the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct; and,
THAT, Change Order 01 is herein approved and the City Manager is authorized
to execute said Change Order; and,
THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of
the City Council.
