SUBJECT: Page: Authorize Repairs for Hurricane Rita Related HRPUMP 123- Damage to Drainage Pump Stations 1 of 2 17 May 06 2300-901.32-00 ~~/OS: We recommend that the City Council award bids for repair of the Hurricane Rita related damage to the Landfill, Ei Vista, Nontrose, and Foster pump stations, to Pick Two Contractors, Tnc. of Crosby, Texas for the amounts of $6,469 for the Landfill pump house, $5,470 for the Montrose pump house, $5,619 for the El Vista pump house, and $1,339 for the Foster pump house for a totai amount of $18,897. BACKGROUND: All of these pump houses suffered wind damage as a result of Hurricane Rita. Six (6) contractors were contacted to provide quotes for the repairs of these buildings, with only two responses. Quality Contract Services, inc. submitted bids for the Montrose, Foster, and Landfill pump houses for total cost of $97,335. )ick Two Contractors, Inc. submitted bids for all four pump houses in the following amounts: $6,469 - Landfill, $5,470 - Montrose, $5,619 - El Vista, and $1,339 - Foster -- total amount - $18,897, These bids were evaluated by Public Works and Purchasing, and were found to be responsible bids for the work requested. BUDGETARY/FTSCAL EFFECT: Funds are available in Projec~ HRPUMP, 123-2300-901.32-00, and are reimbursable by City insurance and FENA. The Finance Department will pursue reimbursement of these costs.
