Attached is P.R. No. 17808 calling for a public hearing to consider a zoning change from
"SF" Single Family to "LC" Light Commercial for a 6.531 acre tract of land out and a part of
Lot 5, Block 3, Range "F ", Port Arthur Land Company Subdivision, City of Port Arthur,
Jefferson County, Texas.
The public hearing shall be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO
CONSIDER A ZONING CHANGE FROM SINGLE FAMILY TO
LIGHT COMMERCIAL FOR A 6.531 ACRE TRACT OF LAND
OUT OF AND A PART OF LOT 5, BLOCK 3, RANGE "F ", PORT
ARTHUR LAND COMPANY SUBDIVISION (LOCATED AT
5000 GULFWAY DRIVE), CITY OF PORT ARTHUR,
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS
WHEREAS, the owner /applicant - First Baptist Church - Port Arthur is requesting
that the City of Port Arthur consider this zoning change for the area delineated in Exhibit
"A" from "SF" Single Family to "LC" Light Commercial; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant of Chapter 211 in the Texas Local Government Code, a public
hearing must precede any zoning change.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT ARTHUR:
THAT the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
THAT the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed this case on August 5, 2013.
THAT a public hearing to consider whether to grant First Baptist Church - Port
Arthur a zoning change request for a 6.531 acre tract of land out of and part of Lot 5, Block
3, Range "F ", Port Arthur Land Company Subdivision in Port Arthur, Jefferson County,
Texas, as delineated in Exhibit "A" shall be held on September 3, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the
City Council Chambers, Fifth Floor, City Hall, 444 Fourth Street.
THAT notice of the public hearing shall be published at least fifteen days prior in the
official newspaper of the City before going to the City Council.
