RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
CHANGE ORDER NOS. 05 AND 06 TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR AND N & T CONSTRUCTION CO., INC.
FOR A CHANGE IN SCOPE FOR WORK TO THE DOWNTOWN
PAVILION DECREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY THE SUM
OF $2,040.37 TO A NEW TOTAL OF $486,085.63 AND
INCREASING THE CONTRACT TIME BY FOUR (4) DAYS TO A NEW
TOTAL OF THREE HUNDRED THIRTY ONE (331) DAYS.
WHEREAS, on 15 October 2012, the City entered into a contract with N. & T.
Construction Co., Inc. for the Renovation for the Downtown Pavilion in the amount of
$453,000 and for a term of 130 days; and,
WHEREAS, per Resolution 13 -172, Change Order No. 1, N & T Construction Co.,
Inc.'s contract was increased by eighty (80) days to a new contract term of two
hundred ten (210) days due to lost time associated with earlier changes; and,
WHEREAS, per Resolution 13 -220, Change Order No. 2, N & T Construction Co.,
Inc.'s contract amount was increased in the amount of $35,126 to a new total of
$488,126.00; and,
WHEREAS, per Resolution 13 -375, Change Order No. 3, N & T Construction Co.,
Inc.'s contract was increased by fifty -seven (57) days to a new contract term of two
hundred sixty seven (267) days due to additional material delays; and,
WHEREAS, per Resolution 13 -481, Change Order No. 4, N & T Construction Co.,
Inc.'s contract was increased by sixty (60) days to a new contract term of three
hundred twenty seven (327) days due to lost days associated with awaiting additional
drawing details to clarify the Request for Information (RFI's) to aid in the preparation of
shop drawings for the metal panels and framing; and,
