RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend that the City Council adopt Proposed Resolution 18109 to amend Catholic
Charities Development Block Grant allocations for program year 2013.
BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
according to Section 24CFR was awarded funding in the amount $1,074,229 for Community
Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG) to the City of Port Arthur for the primary benefit of
low and moderate income persons.
BUDGETARY /FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding is available in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 39 program year.
STAFFING/EMPLOYEE EFFECT:
Funding will not have an effect on our staffmg level.
SUMMARY:
I recommend that the City Council adopt Proposed Resolution 18109 that approves the
amendment for Catholic Charities Community Development Block Grant allocations for 2013.

RESOLUTION NUMBER
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 2013
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT BUDGET FOR
CATHOLIC CHARITIES' HOSPITALITY CENTER.
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the 2013 Community Development Block Grant
Program by Resolution 13 -323, which includes $10,000 to provide financial assistance to
Catholic Charities for low to moderate income residents of Port Arthur; and,
WHEREAS, Catholic Charities current budget (see attachment "A ") will be amended
according to attachment "B "; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council, is required to designate an official to sign all documents
in connection with amendments to the applications and grant agreements; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR:
THAT Catholic Charities Community Development Block Grant budget will be
amended as delineated in attachment "B".
THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the City
Council.
READ, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this day of January A.D., 2014, at a
Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of. Port Arthur, Texas by the following vote:
