RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PLACING OF A PROPOSITION ON THE
MAY 10, 2014 ELECTION BALLOT REGARDING THE RESTORATION AND
REHABILITATION OF ROSE HILL MANOR
WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur City Council held a workshop on January 13,
2014 to further deliberate the architectural assessment of Rose Hill Manor and the direction
going forward regarding its rehabilitation and restoration needs; and,
WHEREAS, several members of the City Council expressed a desire to present the
issue to the qualified voters of Port Arthur via a ballot proposition; and,
WHEREAS, the approval of the Council body is required to permit City staff to
engage in the actions necessary to place a proposition on the election ballot; and,
WHEREAS, City staff desires to know the will of the Council regarding the placing
of a ballot proposition on the May 10, 2014 election ballot, now, therefore:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the facts and opinions of the preamble are true and correct.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Port Arthur hereby authorizes
City staff to do all things necessary to prepare the appropriate
instruments and post the appropriate meetings to place a
proposition on the May 10, 2014 election ballot regarding the
rehabilitation and restoration of Rose Hill Manor.

Section 3. That a copy of the caption of the Resolution be spread upon the
Minutes of the City Council.
READ, ADOPTED, and APPROVED this day of A.D., 2014, at a
REGULAR Meeting of the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, Texas, by the following
