A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR THE PROPOSED AWARD OF FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION FOR OPERATIONS, PLANNING AND CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR THE PORT ARTHUR TRANSIT (PAT). WHEREAS, the City is applying for FTA Fiscal Year 2013 funds for City Fiscal Year 2014 Transit operations, planning and capital expenditures as delineated in Exhibit "A "; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to 49 USC Section 5307 (c) (1) —(7), small urban areas with 50,000 persons or more that operate a transit system require a public hearing to consider a proposed award; and, WHEREAS, Exhibit "A" reflects that $2,037,591 has been apportioned to the City of Port Arthur; WHEREAS, the Program of Projects as delineated in Exhibit `B ". NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT the City Manager is herein authorized to submit an application to the Federal Transit Administration for the fiscal year as indicated in the revised allocation attached hereto as Exhibit "A ". THAT a public hearing is to be held on April 1, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. to consider the eligible grant amount as required by the Federal Transit Authority with regard to the certificates and assurances agreed to by the City. THAT the City Secretary shall cause a notice of the public hearing to be published in the official newspaper of the City at least ten days prior to the hearing date. P.R. New information required a recalculation and replaces the allocation previously awarded in our letter dated July 1, 2013. The amount shown is the total amount made available using the federal fiscal year 2013 funds as well as the recalculated additional funds available from previous years for agencies not located within the boundaries of the Transportation Management Areas. TxDOT has notified the Federal Transit Administration of the revised allocations for FY 2013 in the amounts shown in the attachment.
