RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend that the City Council adopt Proposed Resolution 18288 to approve the 2014
Community Development Block Grant allocations for 2014 program year.
BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) according
to Section 24CFR was awarded funding in the amount of $1,043,729.00 for Community
Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG) to the City of Port Arthur for the primary benefit of
low and moderate income persons.
BUDGETARY/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding is available in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 40 program year.
STAFFING/EMPLOYEE EFFECT:
Funding will not have an effect on our staffing level.
SUMMARY:
I recommend that the City Council adopt Proposed Resolution 18288 to approve allocations for
Community Development Block Grant allocations for 2014 program year.

RESOLUTION NUMBER
A RESOLUTON APPROVING THE 2014 COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ALLOCATIONS IN THE AMOUNT
OF $1,043,729.00 FOR THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1974, as
amended, Public Law 93 -383, the City will submit to the United States Department of Housing
And Urban Development (HUD) the 40 (2014 Program Year) allocations in the amount of
$1,043,729.00; and,
WHEREAS, the 40 Year Consolidated Plan will include a proposed list of
Projects for the 2014 Program Year (see Attachment #1); and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is required to designate an official to sign all
documents in connection with the proposed list of Projects for 2014; Now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR, TEXAS:
THAT the proposed list of Projects for 2014, see Attachment #1, is hereby
approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Arthur to assure compliance with
the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1974, as amended Public Law 93 -383.
THAT the City Manager is designated to sign all documents in connection with
the proposed list of projects.
THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the
City Council.
