PAYMENT TO ICU ENVIRONMENTAL City of Port Arthur, Texas Mayor and City Council Communication DATE RE~FERENCE S*UBJECT: Approve payment to ICU PAGE 12/28/06 NUMBER Environmental, Health & Safety for Civic Center 1 of 1 mold assessment cost in the amount of $14,191.25. RECOMMENDATION: The Purchasing Division recommends the City Council approve payment to ICU Environmental, Health & Safety of Nederland, Texas in the amount of $14,191.25 for the Civic Center mold assessment. BACKGROUND: The Civic Center suffered extensive damage due to Hurricane Rita. A mold assessment was required prior to repairing interior damages. As a result of this assessment, Black Mold was discovered throughout the Civic Center facility. The City currently has a contract with ICU Environmental for this type of work. BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: Funds are budgeted in Account (123-2300-901.54-00) STAFF/EMPLOYEE EFFECT: None SUMMARY: The Purchasing Division recommends the City Council approve payment to ICU Environmental, Health & Safety of Nederland, Texas in the amount of $14,191.25 for the Civic Center mold assessment.
