RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF THE CONTRACT WITH
STRATEGIC GOVERNMENT RESOURCES SEARCH FIRM AS IT PERTAINS TO
THE CITY MANAGER POSITION.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur City Manager position is vacant with regard to a regular
appointee; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution No. 14-230 selecting Strategic Government
Resources as the executive search team for the position of City Manager; and,
WHEREAS,the current contract ends as of September 10, 2014; and,
WHEREAS, it is not anticipated that the executive search will be complete by the end of the
current term; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur desires to extend the contract with Strategic Government
Resources through January 16, 2015 in order to complete the professional executive search to fill the City
Manager position.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions of the preamble are true and correct.
Section 2. That City Council hereby authorizes an extension to the contract with Strategic
Government Resources through January 16, 2015 in order to complete the professional executive search to
fill the City Manager's position at no additional cost.
Section 3. That a qualified representative of Strategic Government Resources, Inc. shall sign a
copy of this resolution agreeing to terms herein.
Section 4. That the point of contact for said contract will be Department of Human Resources.
Section 5. That a copy of the caption of the Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City
Council.
