RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 14116 renewing
the lease of temporary housing for the City Wastewater Treatment Plant Administration
& Laboratory building.
BACKGROUND
The Administration/Laboratory building at the City's Main Wastewater Treatment Plant
received major damage during Hurricane Rita and has been demolished. In order to
provide continuity of services while this building is being repaired, it has been necessary
to lease a modular building to provide office space.
BUDGET/FISCAL EFFECT
The cost for this lease has been submitted to FEMA for reimbursement.
STAFFING/EMPLOYEE EFFECT
City staff will occupy this new office space until the new building is completed.
SUMMARY
I recommend approval of Proposed Resolution No. 14116 renewing the lease of
temporary housing of the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant Administration/Laboratory
building.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT BETINEEN THE CITY OF
PORT ARTHUR AND GE MODULAR SPACE FOR THE LEASE
OF A MODULAR BUILDING FOR USE AT THE MAIN WWTP,
UNTIL THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE MAIN WASTEWATER
TREATMENT PLANT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING. ACCOUNT
NO. t23-2300-901.5t-00, PROJECT NO. HRWWTP.
WHEREAS, Hurricane Rita destroyed the Main Wastewater Treatment Plant
Administration Building; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur has been leasing a modular building from GE
Modular Space for approximately one year to replace the Main Wastewater Treatment
Plant Administration Building; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur desires to renew such lease until the
Wastewater Treatment Plant Administration Building is reconstructed in an estimated
six (6) months; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
THAT, the lease agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "A", between the City of
Port Arthur and GE Modular Space for the rental of a modular building at the Main
Wastewater Treatment Plant; and,
THAT, the total cost for this building and appurtenances is Seven Hundred Ten
and no/100 Dollars ($710.00/month) per month; and,
THAT, the City Manager of the City of Port Arthur is hereby authorized and
directed to execute on behalf of the City of Port Arthur, a lease agreement (Exhibit "A")
between the City of Port Arthur and GE Modular Space; and,
THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the
City Council.

Lease. Unless specifically identified in this Lease, this Lease supersedes all pdor negotiations, proposals and documents. This Lease will not be subject to any additional
provision that may be contained in the Customer's purchase order, although Customer's purchase order number may be used by the par[les as a convenient reference for
invoicing purposes.
Tesrdown and Return charges are subject to increase if the building is not retumed at the end of the odginal lease term.
The attached page (Form ND.US20021216) contains Terms and Conditions that form an integral part of this Lease. Those terms and conditions include but are
not limited to disclaimers of warranties of merchantability and fitness and limitations on damages. The only other documents that form a part of this lease are:
