P. O. NO. 6397 DE 08.14.14 ORDINANCE NO. AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PLEASURE ISLAND BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1,2013 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 BY $256,000 IN ORDER TO FUND PAVING OF THE PARKING LOT AT THE PLEASURE ISLAND ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AND AT THE PLEASURE ISLAND MARINA WHEREAS, in accordance with Article XII, Section 9, of the City Charter, the City Council may make emergency appropriations from time to time; and WHEREAS, the City Council may make budget amendments for emergencies under Section 102.009 and for Municipal purposes under Section 102.010 Local Government Code; WHEREAS, on September 23, 2013, the City Council approved and adopted Ordinance 13-45 which appropriated the 2013-2014 budget; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of the City to fund paving at the Administration Building parking lot and at the Pleasure Island Marina. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the Pleasure Island Budget be increased $296,000 to fund paving at Pleasure Island. Section 3. That Section 6 of Ordinance 13-45 be amended to read: That there be and is hereby appropriated the sum of One Million, Three Hundred Six Thousand, Two Hundred Dollars ($1,306,200) to the Pleasure Island fund for the payment of Operating Expenses, and necessary Capital Outlay for Pleasure Island. Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the minutes of the City Council. Section 5. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately.
