SUBJECT: P.R.18508 —Landfill Quarterly Fees for the City's Landfill
COMMENTS
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend that City Council authorize the payment to TCEQ for quarterly fees in the not to
exceed amount of$300,000.
BACKGROUND:
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) charges fees based on the amount of
waste disposed at the City's Landfill. These fees are assessed on a quarterly basis.
BUDGETARY/FISCAL EFFECT:
Funds are provided in account no. 403-1274-533.59-01
EMPLOYEE/STAFF EFFECT:
None.
SUMMARY:
I recommend that City Council authorize the payment to TCEQ for quarterly fees in the not to
exceed amount of$300,000.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PAY
QUARTERLY FEES FOR LANDFILL DISPOSAL TO THE TEXAS
COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (TCEQ) FOR
THE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR 2014 - 2015 IN A NOT TO EXCEED
AMOUNT OF $300,000. FUNDING IS AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT
NO. 403-1274-533.59-01.
WHEREAS, the TCEQ charges fees based on the amount of waste disposed of in the
City's Landfill; and,
WHEREAS,the City is required to pay these fees on a quarterly basis; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR:
THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized to make quarterly payments to the TCEQ
for waste disposal in the City's Landfill for the fiscal year 2014 - 2015 in the estimated amount
of$300,000; and,
THAT, funding is available in account no. 403-1274-533.59-01; and,
THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City
Council.
