SUBJECT: Requesting a Public Hearing for Fiscal Year 2015 grant

BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to 49 CFR, 49 USC Section 5307 (c) (1) — (7) for small urban areas with 50,000 persons
or more that operate a transit system require a public hearing, explaining how the funds are to
be used.
BUDGET/FISCAL EFFECTS
The Department desires these funds to operate.
SUMMARY:
Hence, PAT is requesting that there be a public hearing on January 20, 2015, in order to be in
compliance with Section 5307 of 49 CFR.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE
FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION'S PROPOSED AWARD FOR
OPERATIONS, PLANNING, AND CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR FISCAL YEAR
2014-2015 FOR PORT ARTHUR TRANSIT (PAT).
WHEREAS, pursuant to 49 CFR, 49 USC Section 5307 (c) (1) — (7) for small urban areas with
50,000 persons or more that operates a transit system requires a public hearing to consider the proposed
award; and,
WHEREAS, Exhibit "A" reflects that $1,987,368 has been appropriated to the City of Port
Arthur; and,
WHEREAS, the Program of Projects of the Port Arthur Transit Department are attached as
Exhibit`B".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT ARTHUR:
THAT, pursuant to 49 CFR, 49 USC Section 5307 (c) (1) — (7) a public hearing to consider the
proposed award appropriated for fiscal 2014-15 and the Program of Projects of Port Arthur Transit
Department will be held on January 20, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall 444
Fourth Street , Port Arthur, Texas.
THAT, the City Secretary shall cause a notice to be published in the official newspaper of the
City at least ten (10) days prior to the hearing date.
THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.

Dear Section 5307 Transit Operator:
Attached is a list showing the Fiscal Year 2014 funding allocations for the individual
Section 5307 operators in Texas from the Governors Apportionment. The Texas
Department of Transportation (TxDOT) used the apportionment referenced in the
Federal Register dated March 10, 2014.
At this time, no adjustments to individual city allocations are warranted. TxDOT has
notified the Federal Transit Administration of the allocations for FY 2014 in the
amounts shown in the attachment. If you have any questions or require additional
