ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CHIEF EXECUTIVE
OFFICER OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR SECTION 4A
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO SELL
SURPLUS PROPERTY BY A PUBLIC AUCTION
THROUGH AMERICAN OFFICE AUCTION OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation
(the"PAEDC") has surplus property described in Exhibit"A"; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the surplus property that has been deemed to be functional and
not of use to the PAEDC will be provided to the City's Transit Division as an intergovernmental
transfer; and
WHEREAS, PAEDC deems it is in the public's interest to sell the remaining portion of
the surplus property highlighted in Exhibit"A"; and
WHEREAS, said property has been deemed obsolete and/or non-functional at a public
auction through American Office Auction of Beaumont, Texas to obtain the best possible price.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1. That the PAEDC Chief Executive Officer is hereby authorized to sell the
surplus property at a public auction, with regard to the remaining portion of the surplus property
which has been highlighted in Exhibit"A."
Section 2. That the portion of the surplus property that has been deemed to be functional
and not of use to the PAEDC will be provided to the City's Transit Division as an
intergovernmental transfer.
Section 3. That this being an Ordinance not requiring publication the same shall take
effect and be in force immediately from and after its passage.
Section 4. That a copy of this Ordinance shall be spread upon the Minutes of the City
Council.
READ, ADOPTED AND APPROVED on this day of A.D., 2015,
at a Meeting of the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, Texas, by the following vote:
