RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 18967 approving the 2015 Streets
Program.
BACKGROUND
The attached recommendation lists the proposed streets projects to be rebuilt under the 2015 Street
budget. The current available funding is $300,000. The proposed streets for reconstruction are as follows:

Oleander SH73 to Shirley Street 5 $77,000
Brazos Avenue Rice Farm Road to Jimmy Johnson Boulevard 3 $58,000
Mimosa Street West Port Arthur Road to Ray Avenue 5 $121,200
58th Street Hazel Avenue to Pat Avenue 5 $55,400
TOTAL $311,000
In addition, City staff proposes to complete pavement repairs on 1St Avenue in Sabine Pass due to utility
installation and construction of a concrete street section on 12th Street at the Fire Station.
I have also attached the 2015 Streets report that identifies street reconstruction alternatives based on
current pavement conditions.

Funds are provided in the following accounts:

Existing staff will complete the work.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2015 CITY STREETS PROGRAM IN
THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, WITH FUNDING TO BE AVAILABLE
IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT STREETS PROGRAM
ACCOUNT NO. 001-1203-531-86.00 .
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department of the City of Port Arthur has developed a
2015 City Streets Program as shown in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part hereof;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR:
THAT, the recommended 2015 City Streets Program as shown in Exhibit "A" is hereby
approved; and,
THAT, the City Staff is hereby instructed to take all steps necessary to effect the above
referenced 2015 City Streets Program in a timely and cost-effective manner; and,
THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City
Council.
