RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AND/OR REAPPOINTING A MEMBER
OR MEMBERS TO THE PLEASURE ISLAND ADVISORY COMMITTEE
(REQUESTED BY COUNCILMEMBER SWATI)
WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur Pleasure Island Commission
was created by Ordinance No. 70-56 ; and
WHEREAS, on May 11, 2013 the citizens of Port Arthur voted
to bring the Pleasure Island Commission under the direction of
the City Manager and changed the name of the board to the
Pleasure Island Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the term of office is four years, and
WHEREAS, the following persons are the current directors
for the Pleasure Island Advisory Committee :

Position 2 Terry Doyle February 10, 2013 *
Position 3 Jody P. Holton February 4 , 2018 *

Position 6 Ricky Reese May 30 , 2017
Position 7 Evette Joseph January 7, 2018
Position 8 Johnnie Cooper September 29, 2018
Mayor Michelle Dorsey August 20 , 2017
and;
WHEREAS, Board members can be removed by vote of City
Council; and

WHEREAS, Councilmember Swati has requested to formerly
appoint Ricky Reese as Director to Position 6 of the Pleasure
Island Advisory Committee, with his term expiring on May 30 ,
2017 .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble
are true and correct .
Section 2 . That the following persons shall therefore
be the directors for the Pleasure Island Advisory Committee :
