RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION CASTING VOTES FOR THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE ORANGE COUNTY APPRAISAL
DISTRICT FOR THE TERM ENDING DECEMBER 31,
2015
WHEREAS, the terms of the Orange County Appraisal District
Board of Directors expires on Decembers 31, 2015 ; and,
WHEREAS, on September 15, 2015 (pursuant to Resolution
No. 15-339) , the City Council cast votes for nominations to
the Orange County Appraisal District and submitted five
names for consideration; and,
WHEREAS, all five (5) positions on the Board of Directors
are up for re-election for the 2016-2017 term of office; and,
WHEREAS, based on 2014 Tax Levies, the City Council has 56
votes allocated; and,
WHEREAS, the Council can cast all of its 56 votes for one
candidate or distribute them among the other candidates; and,
WHEREAS, the following individuals are candidates for the
board of directors :
• Hughie J. Allen
• Tim Andrews
• Laura Floyd
• Lynda Gunstream
• Tim Schossow
• John Zerko

WHEREAS, the deadline for casting votes by written
resolution is November 15, 2015, the official ballot is attached
hereto as Exhibit "A" ; and,
WHEREAS, the term of office for the Orange County Appraisal
District Board of Directors is from January 1, 2016 to December
31, 2017 .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble
are true and correct .
Section 2 . That the City Secretary shall submit this
Resolution to the Orange County Appraisal District, as
delineated herein with the applicable votes and shall send a
certified copy of this Resolution to the District :
