RE: P.R.No. 19210—Calling for a Public Hearing
Nature of the request:
Attached is P.R. No. 19210 calling for a public hearing to consider a specific use
permit for approximately 0.2583 acre of land consisting of Lot 11, Block 62,
Grilling Residential Park. The property is located at 4621 Evergreen Drive [north
of Evergreen Drive and east of Tyrrell Parkway] in Port Arthur, Texas.
The purpose of this request is to allow for the operation of a Bed and Breakfast in
a Single Family zoned district.
Staff Analysis/Considerations:
None
Recommendation:
The public hearing shall be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

CONSIDER GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR
0.2583 ACRE OF LAND CONSISTING OF LOT 11, BLOCK
62, GRIFFING RESIDENTIAL PARK [A.K.A. 4621
EVERGREEN DRIVE], PORT ARTHUR, JEFFERSON
COUNTY, TEXAS FOR THE OPERATION OF A BED AND
BREAKFAST IN A SINGLE FAMILY ZONED DISTRICT

WHEREAS, the applicants — William and Rhonda Perez, are requesting that the City of Port
Arthur consider granting a Specific Use Permit for approximately 0.2583 acre of land consisting of
Lot 11, Block 62, Griffing Residential Park [A.K.A. 4621 Evergreen Drive] in Port Arthur, Jefferson
County, Texas for the operation of a Bed and Breakfast in a Single Family zoned district, as
delineated in Exhibit"A"; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 211 of the Texas Local Government Code, a public
hearing must precede any zoning change; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ARTHUR:
THAT the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
THAT the Planning and Zoning Commission will review this case on November 16,
2015.
THAT a public hearing to consider whether to grant this applicant a specific use permit
for 4621 Evergreen Drive in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas as delineated in Exhibit
"A" shall be held on December 8, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Fifth
Floor, City Hall, 444 Fourth Street.
THAT notice of the public hearing shall be published at least fifteen days prior in the
official newspaper of the City before going to the City Council.

THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City
Council.
