AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2015 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2016 FOR THE EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT FUND BY $561,628.00, IN ORDER TO FUND THE CAPITAL VEHICLE EQUIPMENT PURCHASE OF TWELVE (12) CHEVROLET TAHOES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, in accordance with Article XII, Section 9, of the City Charter, the City Council may make emergency appropriations from time to time; and WHEREAS, the City Council may make budget amendments for emergencies Under Section 102.009 and for Municipal purposes under Section 102.010 Local Government Code; and WHEREAS, on September 21, 2015, the City Council approved and adopted Ordinance 15-43 which appropriated the 2015-2016 budget; and WHEREAS, $561,628 additional funding is needed in the Equipment Replacement Fund for purchase of twelve (12) Chevrolet Tahoes for the Police Department; total purchase price of $561,628; which includes the base price and options ($561,228), and other non-equipment charges ($400). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTH UR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the Equipment Replacement Fund budget be increased $561,628. Section 3. That Section 9 of Ordinance 15-43 be amended to read: That there be and is hereby appropriated the sum of Five Hundred Sixty One Thousand, Six Hundred Twenty Eight Dollars ($561,628) to the Equipment Replacement Fund for the Police Vehicle purchase. Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the minutes of the City Council . Section 5. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately.
