AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 78 (PERSONNEL), DIVISION V (ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE), SECTION 78-184(a) (HOLIDAYS) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS, BY ADDING VETERANS DAY AS A PAID HOLIDAY WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the Code of Ordinances of the City of Port Arthur to add Veterans Day as a paid holiday. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That Section 78-184(a) of the Code of Ordinances is herein amended as follows: "Sec. 78-184. - Holidays. (a) The following holidays shall be declared official paid holidays for probationary and regular city employees: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day." Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council. Section 4.
