There are three (3) 10"water meters at this location. This is part of the system that helps supply water to Sabine Pass Liquefaction/Cheniere LNG facility. MK Constructors has submitted Change Order No. 1 for a time extension of 80 days, 17 due to weather delays, and 63 days for material delays. To a new contract completion date of April 01, 2016. StaffAnalysis, Considerations: City staff will assist in construction. Upon completion of this project, the City will accept the public improvements. Recommendation: I recommend that the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 19269 authorizing the City Manager to execute Change Order No. 1 to the contract between the City of Port Arthur and BDS Constructors dba MK Constructors of Vidor, Texas for time extension of 80 days, due to delays in weather and materials listed in Exhibit "A" to a new contract completion date of April 01, 2016. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO THE PLEASURE ISLAND METERING STATION CONTRACT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR AND BDS CONSTRUCTORS DBA MK CONSTRUCTORS OF VIDOR, TEXAS, FOR TIME EXTENSION OF 80 DAYS, DUE TO DELAYS IN WEATHER AND MATERIALS TO A NEW CONTRACT COMPLETION DATE OF APRIL 01, 2016. ACCOUNT NO. 429-1258-532.59-00, PROJECT NO. WSI002. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution Number 15-264, authorizing a contract to BDS Constructors dba MK Constructors of Vidor, Texas to provide the Pleasure Island Metering Facility; and, WHEREAS, BDS Constructors dba MK Constructors has requested proposed Change Order No. 1 for a time extension of 80 days for weather and material delays; and WHEREAS, Arceneaux Wilson & Cole, LLC.,, of Port Arthur, Texas reviewed and recommended Change Order No. 1 of the contract to BDS Constructors dba MK Constructors of Vidor, Texas. (Attached hereto as Exhibit"A") NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT, the City Manager of the City of Port Arthur is hereby authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Port Arthur, Change Order No. 1 (attached as Exhibit "A") to the contract between the City of Port Arthur and BDS Constructors dba MK Constructors of Vidor, Texas increasing the total contract time by eighty (80) days due to delays P.R.
