RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 11760, authorizing
the calling of a Public Hearing to consider whether or not to issue a permit to Buckeye Gulf
Coast Pipe Lines, L.P. of Houston, Texas to install an 8" Hydrogen Pipeline within the corporate
limits of the City of Port Arthur, located along the 60th Street and Chevron Pipeline corridors
BACKGROUND:
Buckeye Gulf Coast Pipe Lines, L.P., of Houston, Texas has made application for a permit to
install an 8" Hydrogen Pipeline within the corporate limits of the City of Port Arthur, located
along the 60~ Street and Chevron Pipeline Corridors in the ElVista area before crossing Highway
73 and leaving the City Limits.
The Public Hearing for the requested pipeline permit will be held on May 14, 2002 at 7:00 p.m.
in the City Council Chambers and allow input from the public and other interested parties. The
Citizen's Pipeline Advisory Committee will meet and review the permit application prior to the
public hearing, and will present their recommendation at the public hearing.
The Director of Public Works and Director of Planning have reviewed said application.
BUDGETARY/FISCAL EFFECT:
The permit fee of $1,500 will be deposited to Account No. 001-0000-322.81-00.
EMPLOYEE/STAFF EFFECT:
None.
SUMMARY:

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
THAT~ the City Council of the City of Port Arthur hereby, in accordance with Chapter
66, Article II, Sections 66-51 through 66-69, Code of Ordinances, as amended,
authorizes calling a public hearing to consider whether or not to issue a permit to
Buckeye Gulf Coast Pipe Lines, L.P. for a 8" hydrogen pipeline within the corporate
limits of the City of Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas, located along the 60t~ Street
and Chevron Pipeline corridors in the EIVista area before crossing Highway 73 and
leaving the City limits, said locations being more accurately shown on the attached map
marked as Exhibit" '"

THAT~ said public hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in
the Council Chambers at City Hall, 444 4th Street, Port Arthur, Texas; and,
THAT, the Acting City Secretary shall cause notice to be published in the Port Arthur
news at least 10 days prior to the hearing date; and,
THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the
City Council.
